JointsWhen used as a ground level DPC, Plyload is simply sandwiched within the mortar joint positioned at 150mm i.e. two brick courses above external ground level. When used as a cavity tray system in surface fix situations, the substrate should be primed using a suitable bituminous primer, a butyl or bituminous tape is then applied to the primed area prior to bonding the DPC to the tape. A fixing strip is then used to secure the dpc which is mechanically fixed at 150mm centres. In brick/block situations where the cavity tray is being built-in, to both the inner and outer leaf, the tray is sandwiched within the mortar joints on each course. Where joints are formed in the linear run, a joint support should be used to allow positive forming of the joint which is left in as part of the system. |

The
plastic locator is bonded to where the joint is to be formed and the support
board locked into position.

The
first part of the joint is formed by bonding the cavity tray to the support
board by removing the release paper

The
second part of the joint is formed by bonding the cavity tray to the first
using the tape, then finally mechanically fixing at 150m centres.
