Joints

When used as a ground level DPC, Plyload is simply sandwiched within the mortar joint positioned at 150mm i.e. two brick courses above external ground level.

When used as a cavity tray system in surface fix situations, the substrate should be primed using a suitable bituminous primer, a butyl or bituminous tape is then applied to the primed area prior to bonding the DPC to the tape.

A fixing strip is then used to secure the dpc which is mechanically fixed at 150mm centres. In brick/block situations where the cavity tray is being built-in, to both the inner and outer leaf, the tray is sandwiched within the mortar joints on each course.

Where joints are formed in the linear run, a joint support should be used to allow positive forming of the joint which is left in as part of the system.

JSS Stage 1
The plastic locator is bonded to where the joint is to be formed and the support board locked into position.
JSS Step 2
The first part of the joint is formed by bonding the cavity tray to the support board by removing the release paper
JSS Step 3
The second part of the joint is formed by bonding the cavity tray to the first using the tape, then finally mechanically fixing at 150m centres.
